Shell cores in rows after shooting

Shell moulding

Shell cores. Solid and hollow.

Dimensional accuracy and surface finish for complex geometries. Two core families, one inspection standard.

01

Solid cores

  • Complex geometries with tight tolerances.
  • High surface finish, less downstream machining.
  • Dimensional stability in storage and at pour.
02

Hollow shell cores

  • Oil and water channels, internal cavities, weight reduction.
  • Less sand in the core: less gas at pour, easier knock-out.
  • Lower weight for handling and core setting.

When we recommend it

When we recommend it

  • Castings with fine detail and surfaces that must come out finished.
  • Medium and high volume where dimensional repeatability is the requirement.
  • Internal channels where a hollow core reduces gas defects.
